PROGRAM
+++ Stage Program +++

Ramatou Orchestra | 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
The Ramatou Orchestra presents its debut album: “Ramatou"!
The eight-member band from Frankfurt am Main celebrates the joy of playing with
sophisticated, driving rhythms and colorful harmonies: groove in multi-color!
Feeling the space. Melting the time. Swinging in the air, shaking on the ground,
sticking together and - somewhere in the thickest branches a parrot screeches
colorfully. The alternation of elaborate arrangements, energetic improvisation,
shimmering soundscapes, melodies - as if heard before - and pulse, pulse again
and again carries the outside to the grave, dancing and only for a moment, and
celebrates the new again and again and again. Not really jazz, not funk, not
soul, not world, not afro, not urban or rural either: Ramatou invites you to
the tribal festival of world society, the dance of death to everyday life, the
little rite of disorder, the carnival of things.

Sun's Sons I 4:00 - 5:00 pm
The Sun´s Sons oscillate between hope and hopelessness, speaking from the soul of a generation of young people who are having the rug pulled out from under them every day and who have learned to hold on to each other. Founded in 2019 but only really active since 2021 due to the pandemic, the band from Frankfurt am Main has quickly attracted attention with its unique balance between danceable indie pop and intimate ballads. Their expressive songs with political lyrics have received four-figure radio plays in Germany and almost 100 plays on the renowned US station KCRW. Sun's Sons released the two EPs “Clean Slate" (2022) and “You & My Mind" (2021) as well as their debut album “An Odyssey" (2023) completely on their own, establishing their international sound. A sustained European tour followed in 2024 with shows in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg and three further tours as support for UK bands Cardinal Black, Ferris & Sylvester and Walt Disco.

Welcome by the RMU's Presidiums I 5:00 - 5:15 pm
The Presidents of the RMU welcome all participants with a warm joint greeting

The Odd Project I 5:15 pm
The Odd Project is a self-founded K-pop cover group from Frankfurt am Main that has been around since 2022. K-pop stands for Korean pop music, whereby pop is an umbrella term here, because K-pop not only includes classic pop elements, but is also made up of a wide variety of musical genres, such as house, hip hop or jazz funk and many more. Due to the different genres, the dance styles are also very different and adjusted to the respective song. Most of the songs have their own choreography, which the group rehearses together. They share the finished result on social media.
You can expect a varied performance of different girl and boy group songs. If you're curious, take a look at The Odd Project's and let them show you the diversity of K-pop!

Urbannino I 5:45 - 7:00 pm
Urbannino makes indie nostalgia without becoming annoyingly nostalgic. He makes music for people who want to look back on bad times with a smile, because they know that it's okay not to be okay. For people who find beauty and humor in the imperfect and for whom the last train home is not the end. Urbannino drives arbitrariness, but with clear ideals. He can be funny, he can be sad, he can be angry and maybe even a little sweet. He's all about heartbreaks, life, intoxication, love, excess and so much more. (Are these the mid-twenties everyone talks about?) He doesn't want all that for himself alone, and that's why he opens his heart to all of us. “It's good to be alive" - and that's exactly what he shares with us.

Modern Dance/Female Style I 7:00 pm
We love to dance and feel very honored to be part of the summer festival this year. The style we are developing is Female Style/High Heels. In the dance context, 'female style' refers to a dance style and aesthetic that emphasizes feminine movements and expressions. This includes certain postures, elegant arm movements, graceful turns and smooth footwork. The style is often emphasized by dancing on heels, which accentuate the female silhouette and add elegance to the movements

Hip-Hop I 7:10 pm
For us, hip-hop is more than just dancing - it is expression, energy and community. In various choreos and styles, we show what we have been working on over the last few weeks. The joy of movement is our focus and we hope to infect you with it. Would you like to join us next time? We train at university sports and look forward to seeing new faces!

AFROTUDEDANCERS I 7:15 - 7:45 pm
Look forward to a dance performance full of passion, energy and positive vibes!
The dance collective AFROTUDEDANCERS from the Rhine-Main area creates space for empowerment, community, solidarity, celebration and fun with an eclectic mix of Afro, urban and traditional styles!
So don't miss this special performance and come along!

Kapa Tult I 8:15 - 9:30 pm
In their indie hit "½ Cappucino", Kapa Tult sing “Let's go on tour" - and that's exactly what they're doing now. With their debut album “Es schmeckt nicht" and two new singles, Kapa Tult denounce the banal grievances of our time: Too many bad Hollywood movies, too few therapy places. Also: no dental dams in supermarkets, booty calls that turn out to be care calls and friends who are always busy - “because everyone is improving the world or themselves". A Kapa Tult concert is like: A date that starts off romantically, but somehow doesn't end up being much more than cake-eating. Standing in the schoolyard and asking yourself: “Why is everybody one of the cool kids and I'm always just standing next to them?" Running into walls and feeling desperate because: “I want to change everything, I just don't know how". The good news is that other people seem to feel the same way.
“Kapa Tult comes from Leipzig, their punky indie pop is characterized by lo-fi aesthetics, especially the lyrics have it all: diary-like, they sing about fears, insecurities, complicated and simple relationships. And, quite explicitly, about sex. Above all lies a relaxed, natural feminist attitude." (Martin Böttcher, Tagesspiegel) “At last, clear statements are made, a precise and honest look is taken at what is really there and what is lying around in the lives of women between 20 and 30. Toxic relationships with assholes ("BitteBitteBitte“), ambiguous enthusiasm about certain talents of the ex-boyfriend ("Leck mich“) or even great platonic relationships that work ("Ich hab einen Freund, den ich von einer Party kenne"). Confident and insanely funny." (Rebecca Spilker, Musikexpress) Kapa Tult is “power pop including rock freak-out, to which fun and feminism embrace each other." (Rebecca Spilker, Musikexpress)

Tribal Fusion Belly Dance I 9:50 pm

Shantel and Bucovina Club Orchestra I 10:00 - 11:30 pm
With his creative approach to mixing cultures, Shantel became the audible face of a different Germany worldwide, as he was the first to inject a cosmopolitan sound into pop culture here. With him, migration is audible and danceable. Musical gems from south-eastern Europe, the Middle East or the Mediterranean sea appear in a new, multi-layered context, making the culture from which they originate intuitively tangible. His method is cultural mixing and sampling: taking things out of context and transferring them into a new one. Club culture as a concept that is constantly evolving and not as a museum in which the same old thing is repeated - like in Berlin, where thousands of tourists wait outside Berghain to experience the predictable.

Immerse yourself in a holistic workshop that combines tribal fusion bellydance with mindful bodywork, musical expression, creative composition and a soothing beauty ritual for face and soul. An hour that will not only expand your dance vocabulary, but also connect you to your inner strength, presence and feminine radiance. We start with the basics of tribal fusion technique: isolations, body waves, locks, elegant armwork and posture. You will also receive impulses for improvisation: structured or free, within a choreographic framework. We work with vocabulary from tribal fusion belly dance and support you in shaping your own expression. In the second part of the workshop we will transform our dance material into a choreography. You will get to know elements of composition: how movements are arranged, interpreted and conveyed in space and group. This is followed by a relaxing finale: gentle stretching, conscious breath work and a soothing session of face yoga. With targeted exercises for the face, jaw and neck, we activate and relax the facial muscles for more radiance, facial expressions and natural skin tightening. No pre-booking necessary!
