Teaching examinations

  • Lisbeth Zimmermann conducts written and oral examinations in educational science in the field of political science. Please read the examination guidelines and contact Melina Bräutigam (m.braeutigam@soz.uni-frankfurt.de) to find out whether there are still places available for the relevant period (see below). You will then receive confirmation from the office.
  • One week before the oral examination, please send me a thesis paper in which you list the (two to three) theses per topic that you consider to be central and that could serve as a starting point for the examination (you may bring the thesis paper with you to the examination).
  • The thesis paper should contain the following information: Your surname, first name; type and date of the examination (e.g. HP on 31 February 2222); topic 1: 2-3 theses and a list of the underlying literature; topic 2: 2-3 theses and a list of the underlying literature. If possible, save this data in a Word or PDF document – the file name should contain your name.
  • Prepare yourself in two ways: You can prepare well for the content by working out each of your topics as a short presentation. The best way to prepare for the exam situation is through practice. Ideally, you should 'play' the exam with fellow students (here as question-and-answer games) and test each other.
  • The examination itself is more like an examination interview, in which you make statements, I ask questions, argue against them, etc. It is less about testing your knowledge and more about being able to classify and relate debates to each other.

If you have any questions during your exam preparation, please contact Prof. Zimmermann.
