Information for International Buddies

You're looking for a Buddy who supports you while you settle in in Frankfurt?

Youe have questions about studying and living in Frankfurt? You are interested in learning about German culture and would like to meet experienced fellow students? You would appreciate someone to contact when you need help settling in in Frankfurt? 


Then register as an international Buddy!


  • Support when you arrive (e.g. someone meets you at the airport / train station)
  • Help when you have to go to the authorities (register with the town, open a bank account, arrange health insurance)
  • Help finding your way around campus and the city of Frankfurt
  • Improving your German language skills by actively communicating with a native/fluent speaker
  • Participation in events organised by the Internationaler Studientreff (IST)

For exchange students (e.g. Erasmus) in the Faculty 02 of Economics and Business, there is a faculty-specific buddy program: The WiWir Buddy Program. To register for their program please use the following link.

All international students of Faculty 02 who are planning to do their entire studies at Goethe university (so-called "degree seekers") as well as international and exchange students from all other departments can sign up for our Buddy Program.
