Welcome to the Faculty of Educational Sciences

With 25 professorships and over 100 teaching staff, the Faculty of Educational Sciences is one of the largest centers for educational research and teaching in Germany. Currently, around 7,600 students are enrolled in degree programs offered by the Faculty of Educational Sciences. 

The faculty's study programs are designed to provide both research-oriented and practice-related qualifications. It stands for an integrative approach that brings together various subfields of Educational Sciences, grounded in a socially reflective and interdisciplinary academic culture. The faculty actively contributes to interdisciplinary discourse and is committed to shaping the discipline, the profession, and society – locally, nationally, and internationally – in a responsible way.

The faculty comprises five academic units: the Institute of General Educational Science, the Institute of Early Childhood and Primary Education, the Institute of Secondary Education, the Institute of Special Education and the Institute of Social Pedagogy and Adult Education.
