Information for Scholarship Holders

First steps

If you have been accepted for the Deutschlandstipendium, you will be actively included in the course section of the Deutschlandstipendium on OLAT. All important information, such as upcoming events, will be provided there.

You must complete the declaration of acceptance and upload it to the portal.

You will then receive a confirmation and an initial information e-mail.

Payment is always made in the middle of the quarter (first installment of €900 always in mid-November).

The Deutschlandstipendium is awarded for one year - from October 1st to September 30th.

We will send the certificates by post in January to all scholarship holders who were unable to attend the admission ceremony in person.

Changes in studies

If you exceed the standard period of study, you may no longer receive the Deutschlandstipendium.

In the case of a specific application, the standard period of study for the degree program for which you are applying for the Deutschlandstipendium applies. The following table is only an overview.

Exception:

To ensure that students in Hesse do not suffer any disadvantages due to the current corona restrictions, the Hessian state government has decided to extend the standard period of study by up to four semesters for all students enrolled at Hessian universities in the summer semester 2020; winter semester 2020/21; summer semester 2021 and winter semester 2021/22.

You can submit an informal application for an extension of the maximum funding period if one of the reasons according to §7 para. 1 StipG applies to you:

If the duration of your studies is extended for serious reasons, such as a disability, pregnancy, the care and upbringing of a child or a subject-related stay abroad, the maximum funding period can be extended upon application.

Send the application with proof of the reason for hardship in good time (at least 10 working days before the application deadline) to deutschlandstipendium@uni-frankfurt.de so that you still have the opportunity to apply in good time after receiving a decision.

The informal application should contain the following data:

  • First and last name
  • Matriculation number
  • Degree program
  • Application text with justification
  • Evidence

Anyone who already receives material support based on talent and performance that amounts to an average of 30 euros or more per month cannot receive a Deutschlandstipendium (see §4 StipG). If you have been awarded another scholarship and would like to accept it, please let us know. A detailed tabular overview of the admissibility of receiving other scholarships at the same time as the Deutschlandstipendium can be found ere.

If you are exmatriculating due to a change of university or the end of your studies, please inform us (deutschlandstipendium@uni-frankfurt.de).

If the scholarship holder changes university during the approval period, the scholarship ends at the end of the semester for which the scholarship is paid in accordance with § 6 paragraph 3 or 4.

Please let us know in good time why you are planning to take a semester off.

If you take a leave of absence during your Deutschlandstipendium scholarship, you will retain the full funding period in any case. Depending on the reason for the leave of absence, there are two options:

1. leave of absence for a compulsory internship or a subject-related semester abroad

If you take a leave of absence for a compulsory internship stipulated by your study regulations or for a semester abroad related to your field of study, you can continue to receive financial support during this period. The prerequisite for this is that you provide us with appropriate proof.

2. leave of absence for other reasons

In all other cases, no scholarship can be paid out during your leave of absence. Your scholarship will be suspended until you are regularly enrolled again. You will then receive the lost funding with a delay.

You can find more information .

Funding from the Deutschlandstipendium is not automatically extended.

If you continue to meet the application requirements, you can reapply for a Deutschlandstipendium in the summer.

Ideelles Förderprogramm

The ideational support program is a special feature of the ¿´Æ¬Èí¼þ Deutschlandstipendium.

In addition to the financial support, the actual heart of the scholarship is the ideal support program, which aims to convey one thing above all: “Showing attitude". With our educational programs and events, we want to support the scholarship holders in their commitment, but also inspire them to break new ground and develop innovative ideas for social cohesion.

The work in small, interdisciplinary groups of scholarship holders offers space to deal with and critically discuss current issues from a wide variety of perspectives. In collaboration with volunteer mentors, ideas and concepts are then developed that are implemented in concrete projects and thus make a positive contribution to shaping the university, the region and our society in general.

Regular events such as workshops and lectures are also held, giving scholarship holders the opportunity to get to know outstanding personalities from the region and the city of Frankfurt, make important contacts and gain inspiration for their own careers. In addition, various formats are offered for personal development and the teaching of future skills. We have great confidence in you - take an active part in shaping our Citizens' University!
